Cami has come to embrace demon hunting like it’s her sole mission in life. Though her stay at the academy was shorter than expected, she did manage to save some handouts from her classes. She thought her edits were more informative. Enjoy!
For those of you who have read books one and two in the Demon Within series, you know that a shift is already happening in Cami’s world. Here are a few text messages I imagine to take place between Cami and Evan. I hope you enjoy them!
Alana doesn’t follow Cami on her hunts now that she’s reunited with David and knows that Cami can handle herself. So when Cami’s on the road, I imagine that she sends Alana a lot of interesting text messages. Here are a few.
Fun fact: New hunters love taking pictures of dead demons to show their skills. They also do it because demons are actually pretty rare for normal hunters. Cami is an exception.
The last thing Cami likes is to get letters from Malicevile. But he just loves torturing with her through the postal service. It’s his way of showing her that he knows where she is. It’s a power play.
Only the bravest hunters would dare take on a big city. Cami and Cadence aren’t though. She sends this picture to Alana as her way of showing that she’s no longer afraid of the sun setting. She’s embracing it.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these!
I had a lot of fun writing Malicevile Hellshire, so I figured I’d share with you some text messages between him and his new favorite minion. I hope you enjoy! (click on texts to enlarge.)
Fun fact: Malicevile loves to send Cami letters because it’s more intimidating than a text message. But, Malicevile loves everything about modern technology and favors a few emojis. He’s quite pleased to see the purple devil. Cry-laughing is another one of his favorites, because even though demonic soul collecting is serious business, Mal knows how to lighten up and have a good time.
Malicevile has a love-hate relationship with Cami throughout the series. He finds her to be overdramatic over things he doesn’t understand because he’s not thinking on a human level. But, no matter how he feels about her, one thing he is certain of–he believes that she will be by his side one way or another, even if it’s just keeping her soul.
Fun fact: Malicevile has been around a long time. Longer than anyone could possibly grasp. And because he has been around so long, his wealth is unimaginable. So the only possessions he really takes pride in are souls. All the material stuff is replaceable.
Cami and Dylan have an up and down relationship that constantly has her wanting to kiss and kill him on a regular basis. In the next few text messages that take place both before and during Haunted, we get to see how they act on a more normal level when the world isn’t out to get Cami. Click to enlarge and enjoy!
Fun fact: Cami hates nephilim transportation. For one, it’s cold in the air since she runs hot. Two, the closeness of being carried drives her crazy in a good and bad way. And three, transportation is one of the few things she can control in her life. She doesn’t like putting it in someone else’s hands unless she’s desperate. In a car, she has better control of the situation whether she’s driving or not.
Fun fact: Cami sleeps the best just after sunrise. If you dare call or text her before noon, you’ll have to face her wrath. She’d much prefer people send her messages via dreams like Dylan.
Fun fact: Cami has a hard time adjusting to a normal life. Running has always been her specialty, and stopping is harder than she imagined.
Cami Anders has a lot of interesting demon encounters on her quest to find the demon who has been haunting her for years. With her BFF Cadence by her side, things are a lot more interesting. They make a great team. Cami was kind enough to send me a few screen shots from some of their hunts for your reading enjoyment.
Fun fact: Most tainted humans smell like their demonic master to Cami. Sometimes she doesn’t realize they’re tainted until she sees the demon for herself. She rarely notices the scents of humans unless they are associated with demons, have potent body odor/are dirty, or if they wear fragrance.
Here’s another text message between Cami and Cadence involving a demon they stumble upon, who Cadence has the bravery to approach, pretending to be an innocent human. Stay tuned for an extra scene that I wrote from Cadence’s perspective that ties into this text message.
Fun fact: Demons don’t pass up any opportunities presented to them. Cadence is seen as an opportunity to corrupt.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed these extras.
After Crushed, Cami Anders decides to take on the Veiled Realm by storm, going against the alliance’s guidelines for demon hunting, and engages on the hunt of her life in search of the demon who ruined her life time and time again. As part of her new mission in life, Cami and Cadence immerse themselves in the demonic world and stalk demons like true hunters. In the weeks between Crushed and Haunted, they decided to keep track via notes to make their hunts more successful. Here are a few of the pages from their journal about some of the demons they’ve come across. Also, keep a look out for a new scene from Cadence’s perspective coming in a few short weeks on one of their hunts. Enjoy! (Click images to enlarge.)
Halloween is one of the most favored holidays of demons. Not only do mid-level demons have an easier time fitting into the human world with their haphazard human facades, they also find the day to be delightfully sinful.
Cami received this invitation in the mail and wanted to warn everyone that the host is quite demonic and while the cost to attend is free, the price of a good time could be your soul.
Also, as a helpful reminder, the Hunter’s Alliance has issued a guide to help you survive Halloween. Of course, Cami had to put in her own two-cents as always. Enjoy and bargain with demons responsibly.
I’m ridiculously excited to share with you the cover of the third book in the Demon Within series: Haunted. Haunted follows Cami Anders as her world is turned upside down and scattered around like the ashes left in her demon’s wake. It’s my favorite in the series thus far, and I hope you look forward to it as much as I do.
And now for the cover and blurb.
After a devastating sacrifice leaves seventeen-year-old Cami Anders’ life in ruins, she must figure out how to pick up the pieces of her world and carry on with her second chance at life. But moving on isn’t so easy when the past comes back to haunt her, sending her running again—except this time, demons aren’t chasing her.
Determined to make a fresh start, Cami and her friends turn away from demon hunting to help those affected by demons and unprotected by the Hunter’s Alliance. As Cami immerses herself deeper into the Veiled Realm, new revelations have her questioning her entire existence. She finds safety with those she once feared—all while trying to make a difference in a world that no longer feels so wrong.
When an unthinkable act of betrayal forces Cami to face the enemies of her past, she must decide what’s worth more—saving the life of an innocent, saving her future, or saving her soul.
Do you love it? I know I do! You can now add Haunted to your Goodreads TBR list here. Pre-orders will be available shortly.

With the release of Tainted, I’ve had a few people comment on the relationships in Cami’s life. One thing’s for sure—people either love or hate love triangles. If you hate love triangles, I want to let you know now that while there is a love triangle in the series, it’s not what the books are about. The main focus of the series is self-discovery, exploring the gray areas of good and evil, overcoming adversity, fighting for what is important on a personal level, and much more.
Every relationship in Cami’s life is important. They’re not there just to add angst and drama. They serve purposes that might not be clear from the start, because Cami’s world is still full of secrets, lies, and misunderstandings. It’s the relationships that Cami has with others that drive her through her life. From her relationship with her guardian to the relationship with (spoilers ahead) her demonic father, it’s these relationships that help her discover who she is and what she wants/needs to do in her life.
The thing about Cami’s relationship with both Evan and Dylan is that while both boys hold a piece of Cami’s heart, they’re so completely different and special in their own way. And like everything, her relationship with both boys is ever evolving and changing like her whole life. It’s not about who she loves or who she should/wants to be with, it’s about how these specific relationships affect her life. In Tainted, it’s the beginning—everything is new. But in Crushed, things have had time to settle and you get to see the layers unfold. But why a love triangle, you ask? I don’t have a clear cut answer. Cami is young and as things progress and change, so does Cami. You’ll just have to wait and see how things unfold. In the Demon Within series, anything is possible.
